WHAT IS 1% FOR THE PLANET?
1% for the Planet connects businesses, consumers, and non-profits, empowering all of us to drive big, positive change.
In the early 2000s a mountain climber and a fisherman realised they had a lot more in common than a disdain for wearing a suit to work. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, were also passionate environmentalists who happened to be running successful businesses. More important, they understood it was good business to protect the natural resources that kept them in business.
Since 2002 1% for the Planet has grown into a global movement of more than 1200 member companies, in 48 countries, all donating at least 1% of annual sales to sustainability initiatives. 1% for the Planet companies have given more than $100 million back to protect the environment. www.onepercentfortheplanet.org
ARE PLANET LUXE PRODUCTS SEPTIC SAFE?
Yes they certainly are. They are fully biodegradable and safe for septic.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY PLANET LUXE PRODUCTS?
We recommend you keep your products in a cool place away from direct sunlight. All products have a 24-month shelf life if stored correctly.
HOW DO I UNLOCK THE PUMP ON DISH WASH, HAND WASH AND HAND BALM?
Make sure the pump is screwed on firmly, with the spout facing you. Rotate the pump head to the right to unlock and back to left to lock.
WHY IS THIS PLANET LUXE PRODUCT SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TO ONE I PURCHASED PREVIOUSLY?
Due to the natural raw ingredients used to manufacture our products slight variations in aroma, colour, texture and viscosity might occur from batch to batch. Liquids may also settle if left sitting for periods of time. This is completely normal and does not alter the efficacy of the product. Give the bottle a gentle shake and proceed with use as usual.
WHO BENEFITS FROM PLANET LUXE’S 1% FOR THE PLANET DONATION?
Planet Luxe donates to Rainforest Rescue. The Daintree Rainforest is of international conservation importance as one of the most significant regional ecosystems in the world. Many people assumed that the creation of the Daintree National Park and subsequent World Heritage Listing in 1988 would secure the unique environment of the Daintree Rainforest. However, in the early 1980s, the Queensland state government had approved a large rural residential subdivision in the heart of the Daintree lowland rainforest. The developer divided the larger properties into smaller lots and sold them as freehold properties. These actions seriously undermined the integrity of the lowland rainforest, and created the greatest threat to it and its biodiversity.
While all of these properties border or are included in the World Heritage listed area and contain many of the same high biodiversity and conservation value forests, not all are protected.
Rainforest Rescue's Daintree Buy Back and Protect Forever Project purchases and protects high conservation value rainforest at risk of development. Nature Refuge status is then created which protects the properties forever under covenants ratified by the Queensland Parliament in Australia.
Planet Luxe was the first business to donate funding towards saving Lot 38, Cape Tribulation Rd – Rainforest Rescue needs to urgently purchase and protect this property as it is of immense value in connecting to other already protected Rainforest Rescue lands and to the Swamp Forest Nature Reserve which backs onto Daintree National Park. If Rainforest Rescue can protect Lot 38, Daintree animals will have extended safe tracks to travel, breed, feed and raise their young. Many endangered animals and plants with limited distribution are found on Lot 38. www.rainforestrescue.org.au
